Agriculture is the major employer of the community. About 60% of the population is employed by this sector followed by fishing sector which employer up to 40%.
Agriculture activities are done in 26,000 Ha. 22,340 Ha are occupied by cash crops (coconut and cashew nuts)
Food crops grown in the area include paddy, cassava, sweet potatoes, Banana, vegetables and a number of citruses varieties, mangoes, pawpaw, pineapples and green vegetables.
